Local community on Rwanda’s hilly and mountainous terrain experience serious environmental degradation due to overexploitation of the soil and extensive erosion. Water come from Muhabura, Gahinga, Sabyinyo, Bisoke and Karisimbi volcanoes create water channels and accumulate the floods which demolishes buildings and washes away soils and crops, infrastructure damage (roads, bridges, culverts etc.) and local community death.
